Ciccioponi the city squirrel…these crazed little beasts designed and stitched together by Sanhueza are rough and tumble…Inspired by the resident squirrels of Toronto. Based on a series of drawings about an Asian homeless woman in Toronto who foraged squirrel as food. This character was the catalyst for future sculpture based on creating awareness of the purpose and interconnectedness of animals in our human existence. The black squirrel can be seen throughout Toronto as well as the rare albino squirrel of same family.
